I started this blog to share my stories and experiences as a Speech-Language Pathologist, an Empowerment Mentor, the owner of Empowering Speech Therapy, and generally as a human, etc.
Empowering Speechie Mentor
My name is Devin, and I am the Empowerment Mentor for Inspired Professionals. I became an Empowerment Mentor to fulfill my mission: empower individuals to level-up and elevate their lives and create a transformational impact in our community. I welcome powerful, meaningful connections with individuals, communities (and animals).
Entre-SLP
I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist who ultimately realized that I am a true entrepreneur at heart, so I decided to smoosh some of my passions together. I am an SLP, an Empowerment Mentor to SLPs, the owner of an animal-assisted speech therapy practice…I call myself an Entre-SLP for short (i.e. entrepreneur-speech-language pathologist), ha! I impact the lives of adults who are exploring their rehabilitation journey and I assist young ones just beginning to learn new skills. I do this while running my animal-assisted speech therapy practice, committing my energy to educating, encouraging and facilitating growth in every one of my patients.

In October 2018, while attending Lewis Howes’ personal development conference, the Summit of Greatness, a new friend inspired me to start a blog. Welcome! This blog is about…well, everything. I learned then that I like writing about experiences, and so, experiences you will get.
Rescue-Dog Mom
I’m obsessed with dogs. If you know me, you know this to be the most accurate thing I’ve ever said. I’ve fostered rescue-dogs since 2012, to give back to something greater than myself and selfishly, to experience a sense of fulfillment. Within the past two years, I adopted two incredible dogs from the amazing rescue group, For the Love of Labs out of Connecticut. My two pups influenced my decision to open an animal-assisted speech therapy practice, and they are excellent little helpers. When I was working in skilled nursing facilities, each resident’s face would completely light up when I’d bring my support dogs in for visits. My fur-kids are definitely my pride and joy.
Loving Wife
I became married to the love of my life, Max, on October 20, 2018. We just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary by spending the day hiking up two waterfalls with our adventurous pups. This past year has been incredible. I got to marry my best friend, and get to spend the rest of my life with him. I’d call that “crushing it.”
Student of Life
I met a wonderful friend, Mike, in 2017. He inspired me by asking Simon Sinek’s question, “Why?” And so my personal development and self-discovery journey began. I am a firm believer in the power of living life INTENTIONALLY. Intention invites successes, growth, and opportunities. My common phrases are, “live each day with intention” or “have an intentional day!” I’m always learning, and we as humans, always have room for growth. Life teaches us lessons every day; this is why I call myself a Student of Life, always learning, always growing.
